Maintenance instructions for automobile water pump bearings

Maintenance of automobile water pump bearings:

       1. For newly put into use water pumps, the smooth grease must be changed after 100 hours of operation, and once every 500 hours of operation thereafter.

       2. Use slippery grease and smooth movable bearings. After 1500 hours of operation, the slippery grease should be changed. The amount of oil added should not be too much or too little. Because too much or too little lubricating grease will cause bearing heating, the amount of oil added is generally controlled 1/2 to 2/3 of the volume of the bearing chamber is appropriate.

       3. Regarding the use of smooth oil and smooth bearings, the amount of oil should be added to the regular position.

       4. The container containing lubricating oil or lubricating grease should be clean, and should be sealed normally, and there should be no dust, iron filings and other debris to avoid damage to the bearing

       5. Sodium-based smooth grease is generally used for motor bearings. The characteristics of this type of grease are high temperature resistance (125°C), but it is easy to dissolve in water, so it cannot be used to smooth water pump bearings.
