Subaru recalls multiple models due to car water pump bearing problems

with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. From January 5, 2017, some imported Legacy, Forester, and Impreza series cars will be recalled for the 2008-2011 models. According to the company's statistics, 46,804 vehicles were involved in mainland China.

　　 The 2008-2011 imported Legacy series cars produced during the period from February 1, 2008 to November 26, 2010, a total of 5081 units;

The 2009-2011 imported Forester series cars produced during the period from February 1, 2008 to November 12, 2010, totaling 40,674 units;

The 2008-2011 imported Impreza series cars produced during the period from February 1, 2008 to November 13, 2010 totaled 1,049 units.

Reason for recall

　　 For vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the small assembly clearance of the engine water pump bearing, the bearing may be locked and the water pump may not work properly. If you continue to drive, the engine may stall and cannot be restarted. There are security risks.

  Solution

　　 Subaru Automobile (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the water pump assembly for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
